Privacy Policy

This describes what Dreamy Writing Company ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use our websites and Ingenuity, and what we do with it. We're a small, independent company operating from India — this policy is written to be read in full, not skimmed past.

1. What we collect

Account information

Your email address, and anything else you give us when you create an account or contact us.

Your writing and creative work

The manuscripts, notes, and sheets you create in Ingenuity are stored in our database so you can access your work across sessions.

We do not collect, read, or log your writing — not a single word of your prose, and not the questions or dialogue you exchange with our assistance features. Your creative work belongs solely to you.

Operational and usage metrics

We track high-level, aggregate usage metrics — such as total sheet counts, word counts, and which features are used most. We use these metrics strictly to understand which tools are most valuable to writers and prioritize improvements on our roadmap.

Subscription and payment status

We manage your 14-day free trial status in-house within our application. When you choose to subscribe, we keep a record of your paid subscription status — active, cancelled, renewal dates — synced from Dodo Payments. We never collect, see, or store your credit card numbers or payment details; those go directly to Dodo Payments.

Technical data

Standard technical information any web request carries — IP address, browser type, device information — mainly for security and diagnosing problems.

2. How we use it

To provide and maintain the Service, to process your subscription, to respond when you contact us, to keep accounts secure, and to understand feature adoption so we can make Ingenuity better.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your writing, notes, or questions to train or fine-tune artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

3. Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run Ingenuity, and each only sees what it needs to do its job:

• Dodo Payments — processes your subscription payment and acts as merchant of record. They handle your card details directly; we never do.
• Supabase — hosts our application database and handles authentication. This is where your account and writing data are securely stored.
• Language-model providers — when you actively trigger an assistance feature (such as Idea Dialogue, in-line quick questions, or multi-sheet editorial reviews), the relevant passage of text is sent to our third-party language-model provider solely to generate the real-time response. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data to train their models.

We don't share your data with anyone else, except where required by law.

4. How long we keep it

We keep your account and writing data for as long as your account exists. If your 14-day free trial expires and you do not subscribe, we preserve your manuscripts and sheets indefinitely in read-and-export mode, so your work is never lost and you can return or export whenever you wish.

If you choose to delete your account, we delete your personal data and writing within a reasonable period, except where we are legally required to retain records (such as transaction records for tax compliance).

5. Security

All traffic with Ingenuity is delivered over secure connections (HTTPS). We enforce strict access controls on our database so that only your authenticated account can read, edit, or export your manuscripts and notes.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time by writing to hello@dreamywriting.com. If you're located in India, these rights are consistent with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you're located in the EEA, UK, or elsewhere with its own data protection law, you may have additional rights under that law, and we'll honor them.

7. Children's privacy

The Service isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone below the age at which they can legally consent to this policy on their own.

8. Cookies

This website uses only what's strictly necessary to make pages work. We don't run advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies here.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make a significant change to how we handle your data, we'll make a reasonable effort to let you know before it takes effect.
