This describes how billing, trials, cancellation, and refunds work for an Ingenuity subscription. It's part of our Terms of Service.
New subscriptions start with a free trial. Starting a trial requires a card on file — our payment processor, Dodo Payments, places a $0 authorization on it at the start, not a charge. The trial length is shown to you before you start it.
If you don't cancel before the trial ends, it converts automatically into a paid subscription and your card is charged the price shown at checkout. This is where evaluation happens — use the trial to decide whether Ingenuity is right for you before you're charged anything.
Once a trial converts (or if you subscribe without a trial), you're billed automatically at the interval and price shown at checkout, until you cancel. Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record.
You can cancel anytime. For now, email hello@dreamywriting.com from the address on your subscription and we'll cancel it for you — we're working on a self-serve option and will link it here once it's ready.
Cancelling stops future billing. It doesn't end your access immediately: if you've already paid for the current period, you keep your subscription until that period runs out, then it isn't renewed.
We don't offer refunds for a billing period that's already been charged, including partially used periods. Because every subscription starts with a free trial, you have the chance to evaluate Ingenuity before any card is charged — the trial is the refund window.
The one exception is where the law where you live requires a refund regardless of this policy; in that case, the law applies.
If a renewal charge fails, Dodo will retry it automatically over the following days. If it keeps failing, your subscription is cancelled and your access ends at that point.
If we change the subscription price, it won't affect a period you've already paid for. We'll give you reasonable notice before a new price applies to your next renewal.
