Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Dreamy Writing Company's websites (including this one and ingenuity.dreamywriting.com) and the Ingenuity application (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are

Dreamy Writing Company ("we", "us", "our") is operated from India. Our first product is Ingenuity, a writing application built for novelists and essayists. You can reach us at hello@dreamywriting.com.

2. Accounts

You need an account to use Ingenuity. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access.

You must be old enough, under the law of the country you live in, to agree to these Terms on your own. If you're not, a parent or guardian needs to agree on your behalf.

3. Subscriptions, trials, and payment

Ingenuity is offered on a paid subscription. The price and billing interval are shown to you at checkout before you pay ($30/month, exclusive of taxes). Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record — we never see or store your payment card details.

New accounts begin with a 14-day free trial. You do not need to provide a credit card or any payment method to start a trial, and nothing is charged automatically when it concludes.

If you choose not to subscribe before your 14-day trial ends, your account automatically transitions to read-and-export mode. Your manuscripts, notes, and sheets remain safely stored indefinitely, and you can export your work at any time. Writing, importing new sheets, and editorial assistance features pause until you choose to start a paid subscription.

You can cancel an active subscription at any time through the customer billing portal, which you can open directly from within the Ingenuity app. Cancelling stops future renewals while leaving your access active through the end of the period you've paid for. 4. Your writing and privacy

What you write in Ingenuity belongs entirely to you. We do not claim ownership over your manuscripts, notes, or any content you create using the Service.

We do not collect, read, or log your writing — not a single word of your prose, and not the questions or dialogue you exchange with our assistance features. We only track operational usage metrics (such as sheet counts, word counts, and feature frequency) so we can see which tools writers rely on most and improve them.

We do not use your writing to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models. Furthermore, third-party language-model providers that power Ingenuity's assistance features are contractually prohibited from using your data to train their models.

5. Acceptable use and fair usage

Use the Service the way it's meant to be used. Don't try to break it, resell access to it, reverse-engineer it, or use it to store or distribute anything unlawful.

We provide generous, unlimited access to Ingenuity's editorial and idea assistance features (such as Idea Dialogue, in-line quick questions, and multi-sheet editorial reviews) for your genuine writing process. To protect service availability and quality for everyone, we monitor for abusive or automated patterns — such as scripted queries or submitting requests at unnatural speed. If abnormal activity is detected, we provide an in-app warning first. If excessive usage persists after a warning, access to those assistance features may be temporarily restricted until your next billing cycle.

6. Our software

The Service itself — the software, design, and branding — belongs to Dreamy Writing Company. These Terms give you a license to use it; they don't give you ownership of any of it.

7. Third-party services

Parts of the Service are provided with the help of other companies: Dodo Payments handles billing, Supabase hosts application data, and language-model providers power Ingenuity's writing-assistance features. Their own terms may also apply to how they handle your data — see our Privacy Policy for the full picture.

8. No warranty, limited liability

We work to keep Ingenuity reliable, but the Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of $100 USD or the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time through the in-app billing portal (see Refund & Cancellation). When a paid subscription ends, your account reverts to read-and-export mode, and your manuscripts remain intact. You may also request complete deletion of your account and data at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these Terms.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in New Delhi, India.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If a change is significant, we'll make a reasonable effort to let you know before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
